A high-pressure laminate engineered for scratch resistance
VIRGO 10 Newton (10N) is a high-pressure laminate developed with a focus on scratch resistance. Independently tested in Germany in accordance with EN 438, it achieved Grade 5 scratch resistance, providing designers with a decorative surface backed by measured performance for interiors subject to everyday use.
ABOUT THIS ENTRY
VIRGO 10 Newton is a decorative high-pressure laminate (HPL) from Virgo Laminates, available in models 10N 10600, 10N 10601 and 10N 10605, in sheets measuring 1,220 × 2,440 mm. Launched on 20 May 2025, the product has been commercially available for over a year. Its performance-focused approach centres on scratch resistance, helping the selected decorative finish withstand repeated contact, handling and everyday wear. The laminate forms part of Virgo’s wider portfolio of HPL, compact laminate and liner products, and is represented in Malaysia by Monara Surfaces Sdn. Bhd., based in Johor Bahru.
WHY THIS ENTRY STANDS OUT
VIRGO 10 Newton supports its performance claims with independent test data. Entwicklungs- und Prüflabor Holztechnologie (EPH) in Germany tested the product in accordance with EN 438-2 and EN 438-3, recording Grade 5 scratch resistance at a scratching load of 10 N, surface-wear resistance of 240 revolutions and a microscratch rating of Class 4 under Method B. The product is also supported by third-party GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold certifications for low chemical emissions, issued to Glamiva Overseas Private Limited. Together, these test results and certifications provide specifiers with documented performance information to consider when selecting decorative surfaces.
