1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern participation in the JIDA Designer’s Choice Award (“JDC Award”) programme organised by Johor Interior Designers Association (“JIDA”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), as well as the use of the JDC Award website.
By submitting an entry, registering as a judge, or otherwise participating in the JDC Award programme, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2. About the JDC Award
The JDC Award is organised by Johor Interior Designers Association (JIDA) to recognise excellence, innovation and achievement within the interior design and related industries.
The award programme currently consists of the following categories:
Outstanding Product Awards
Recognising innovative and high-quality products that demonstrate excellence in functionality, design quality, sustainability and market impact.
Outstanding Industry Partner Awards
Honouring companies that demonstrate professionalism, strong industry reputation, service excellence and meaningful industry contribution.
JIDA reserves the right to introduce, remove, combine or amend award categories, judging criteria and programme requirements at any time.
3. Eligibility
Participation is subject to eligibility requirements determined by JIDA.
Entries must be submitted under the category that most accurately reflects the nature of the product, service or organisation being nominated.
JIDA reserves the right to:
Verify the eligibility of any applicant or entry;
Request additional information or supporting documents;
Reassign an entry to a more appropriate category where necessary;
Reject or remove any entry that does not satisfy the eligibility requirements;
Disqualify any applicant found to have provided false, inaccurate or misleading information.
4. Submission of Entries
All entries must be submitted through the official JDC Award online submission platform before the published submission deadline.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that:
All information provided is accurate and complete;
All required documents are submitted;
Uploaded files are accessible and readable;
Submission requirements have been fully met;
All submitted information complies with applicable laws and regulations.
Late, incomplete or corrupted submissions may be rejected at the sole discretion of JIDA.
Submission of an entry does not guarantee shortlisting, nomination or receipt of an award.
5. Submission Materials
Applicants may be required to submit information and materials including but not limited to:
Company information;
Product information;
Design reports;
Product catalogues;
Certifications and approvals;
Supporting documents;
Product photographs and images;
Designer or design team information;
Other materials requested by JIDA.
JIDA reserves the right to request clarification, additional documents or supporting evidence where necessary.
6. Intellectual Property and Permissions
Applicants represent and warrant that:
All submitted materials are owned by them, or
They have obtained all necessary rights, permissions and authorisations to submit such materials.
Applicants further warrant that submitted materials do not infringe any copyright, trademark, patent, confidentiality obligation or other intellectual property rights belonging to any third party.
Applicants shall be solely responsible for any claims, disputes or legal actions arising from submitted materials.
JIDA shall not be liable for any intellectual property disputes relating to submitted entries.
7. Shortlisting Process
All submissions may undergo an initial screening and review process conducted by JIDA and its appointed committee members.
JIDA reserves the right to:
Determine whether an entry satisfies award requirements;
Verify information submitted by applicants;
Decide the number of shortlisted entries in each category;
Remove entries that fail to satisfy submission requirements.
All shortlisting decisions shall be final.
8. Judging and Evaluation
Shortlisted entries shall be evaluated by judges appointed by JIDA.
Evaluation criteria may vary according to the award category and may include, but are not limited to:
Outstanding Product Awards
Innovation and Creativity
Product Quality and Functionality
Design Aesthetics
Sustainability
Market Impact and Industry Contribution
Outstanding Industry Partner Awards
Industry Reputation and Branding
Professionalism
Service Quality
Market Impact and Contribution
Business Integrity
JIDA reserves the right to amend or refine the evaluation criteria where necessary.
Judges’ evaluations, scoring and deliberations shall remain confidential.
9. Award Decisions
Award recipients shall be determined based on the official judging process established by JIDA.
JIDA reserves the right not to confer an award in any category if the entries do not meet the required standard of excellence.
In addition to category awards, JIDA may confer a JDC of the Year recognition.
The JDC of the Year recipient may be selected from shortlisted or winning entries across all award categories, based on overall excellence, innovation, industry contribution and outstanding achievement as determined by the judging panel.
All judging results, award decisions and recognitions are final.
No appeal, correspondence or dispute regarding judging outcomes shall be entertained.
10. Use of Submitted Materials
By submitting an entry, applicants grant JIDA a non-exclusive, royalty-free and worldwide right to:
Review and evaluate submitted materials;
Display shortlisted and winning entries;
Publish company names, product names, project descriptions and photographs;
Use submitted materials for publicity, exhibitions, presentations, publications, media releases, websites, social media and promotional activities related to the JDC Award.
Such usage shall be limited to purposes connected with the administration, promotion and documentation of the JDC Award programme.
Ownership of intellectual property remains with the original owner.
11. Winner’s Package
Award winners may be required to participate in the official Winner’s Package offered by JIDA.
A participation fee of RM16,800 applies to award winners and includes benefits such as:
Trophy and certificate;
Event recognition and branding opportunities;
Awards dinner participation;
Promotional and publicity opportunities;
Official winner recognition materials.
No payment is required during the application stage.
JIDA reserves the right to amend the contents of the Winner’s Package where necessary.
12. Disqualification
JIDA reserves the right to reject, remove or disqualify any entry if:
False, inaccurate or misleading information is provided;
Required documentation is incomplete;
Intellectual property rights are disputed;
Applicable laws or regulations are breached;
The applicant breaches these Terms & Conditions;
The conduct of the applicant may adversely affect the reputation of JIDA or the JDC Award programme.
Disqualification decisions shall be final.
13. Website Usage
Users shall not:
Attempt unauthorised access to any account or system;
Interfere with website functionality or security;
Upload malicious software or harmful content;
Use the website for unlawful purposes;
Misrepresent their identity or affiliation.
JIDA reserves the right to suspend or restrict access where misuse is detected.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JIDA shall not be liable for:
Technical failures or website interruptions;
Submission errors caused by internet or system issues;
Loss of data or uploaded files;
Delays, postponements or cancellations of programme activities;
Any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from participation in the programme.
Participation in the JDC Award programme is undertaken at the applicant’s own risk.
15. Privacy
Personal information collected through the website shall be processed in accordance with the JDC Award Privacy Policy.
Participants are encouraged to review the Privacy Policy before submitting an entry.
16. Changes to the Programme
JIDA reserves the right to amend, suspend, postpone or cancel any part of the JDC Award programme where necessary.
Any updates shall be communicated through official JDC Award communication channels.
17. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.
Any dispute arising from participation in the JDC Award programme shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
